Floods in Sintang, West Kalimantan
A truck loaded with palm oil fruits drives through the flooded road in Lintas Melawi, Sintang Regency, West Kalimantan. The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) stated that after more than three weeks up till now floods are still inundating 12 sub-districts in Sintang, West Kalimantan, as a result 10,381 families or 33,221 affected residents are still displaced.. At least three severe floods submerged parts of Kapuas Hulu Regency, West Kalimantan, this year. Some people considered it abnormal, data showed that Kapuas Hulu is not the only West Kalimantan area hit by the impacts of massive forest clearing and destruction, such as overflows of Kapuas and Melawi rivers.
