Activists Rebrand Westminster as "Wasteminster" in London - News Access
Greenpeace UK activists rebrand Westminster as 'Wasteminster' by sticking up new road signs saying ‘Welcome to Wasteminster’ to show the government they must take responsibility for our plastic waste.
One of the activists wears a mask depicting UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Despite it being illegal to export plastic waste from the UK unless it is recycled or incinerated safely, the UK still exports plastic to countries like Turkey where it ends up being dumped and burned in the open air.
