Activists Call on 'Danish Crown' to Stop Greenwashing of Meat in Copenhagen
Greenpeace Denmark activists are burning trees to the doorstep of the Danish agriculture industry in a protest against Danish Crowns' climate and forest wrecking production of meat. The pork giant is feeding the climate crisis with a massive meat production. The land areas required for animal feed are causing forest destruction in the South American forests.
With “Danish Crown slagter Sydamerikas skove“ (“Danish Crown is slaughtering South America’s forest” and “INDIGENOUS EMERGENCY” written on banners, the activists are criticizing Danish Crowns' massive import of soy for feed and calling the corporation to stop its greenwashing campaign of meat immediately. Danish Crown is misleading consumers with “climate friendly” meat with a false marketing campaign that can delay both the necessary reduction of consumption to less mat and overall political climate action to reduce Denmark's considerable meat production.
