Bycatch Action in Bondi Beach
Greenpeace volunteers, school children and stars of the television program Bondi Rescue help to launch the Greenpeace report on By-catch "What a Waste: The Hidden Cost Of Canned Tuna". The theatrical activity demonstrated the use of Fish Aggregating Devices (FADs) that attract many other species besides tuna: sharks, turtles, juvenile tuna and other species are all indiscriminately caught. Greenseas took the platform to announce their commitment to drop tuna caught using FADs from their product range by 2015. Greenseas joined Safcol and Fish4Eva at the top of the Greenpeace Sustainable Tuna Ranking.
