Greenpeace launched the virtual forest country, Junglistan, to garner people’s support for forests and the wildlife and people dependent on them. Bhaalu and Sheru, the threatened residents of Junglistan interacted with school children and people at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, the site for the virtual embassy of Junglistan. People pledged their support to stop forest destruction due to unbridled coal mining. Increasing number of forests are being diverted for coal mining by the government in the name of meeting the energy demands of people.
