Sustainable Pole and Line Fisherman
Ferdinand Sawur, 25, born in Lamawalang.
At the age of 15 years old, his father taught him how to fish in a small wooden boat. Napoleon then taught him to fish large tuna for a year. The biggest tuna he ever pulled weighed 105 kgs and the biggest amount of tuna he ever pulled in on one trip was 20 yellowfin tunas. "I inherited the fishermens blood from my grandfather." When he is not fishing, he's driving a bemo (local transportation in town). His favourite color is white, for religious and spiritual reasons.
