Minako Sugano Hanging Clothes Indoors in Date City
Minako Sugano, a mother of 3 children and former kindergarten teacher in Date city, hangs children's clothes inside her apartment room. "I don't want to hang our clothes outside because of concern of contamination.' Because school-provided lunch contains vegetables harvested in Fukushima, she ensures her children bring lunch boxes to avoid internal radiation exposure. After her original house was designated as a specific spot recommended for evacuation, her family evacuated to their current house in the same city. Her current house is located in Date city, 19km north east of Fukushima city central.
