Greenpeace activists unfurl a large banner with the message in Portuguese “A Falta de Agua Começa Aqui” (Water shortage begins here) on a 360 hectare parcel of burned and destroyed forest.
The place where the protest is held, 50 km from Boa Vista in the State of Roraima, in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, highlights the ongoing deforestation and for the first time links the deforestation with the water crisis Brazil is currently facing.
