'Detox Football' Protest against Adidas in Mexico
Activists from Greenpeace protest against adidas at an international friendly match between Mexico and Israel at the Azteca stadium, in Mexico City. They release a large banner of 220 square meters with the message “adidas, Detox Football.” Activists are protesting around the world to remind Adidas of its environmental responsibility to clean up the production of World Cup 2014 merchandise. Adidas, the official sponsor of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, has introduced jerseys, gloves, shoes and other products that contain a variety of toxic and hazardous substances.
