King and Queen Mother Demand Toxic-Free Fashion
Part of storytelling project that involves the retelling of the Hans Christian Anderson classic, “The Emperor’s New Clothes”, the image depicts the young King demanding toxic-free fashion having discovered that even the most luxurious and exclusive brands are selling children’s clothes that contain hazardous chemicals. His mother, like all parents, only wants the best for her son, but by purchasing products from brands like Versace and Dolce & Gabbana has become an unwitting accomplice in the toxic pollution cycle, as the presence of hazardous chemicals in clothing items bought from these brands can then enter into our lives when the clothes are made and washed.
