Human - Wild Elephant Conflict in India
As the expansion of coal mining increasingly engulfs the forest area in Chhattisgarh region, India, wild elephants are loosing their habitat and suffering from shortage of food. As a result, sudden entry of herds of elephants to the village areas in search of food is becoming almost a regular matter. Villagers in Dharamjaigarh area have to live in panic as dozens of people have been already killed by wild elephants in recent years in the region.
