TIME Magazine Cover Action in Mexico
Greenpeace Mexico activists unfurl a banner from the Pemex Tower in Veracruz port reading: "Saving Mexico?". The banner, a parody of a TIME magazine cover, shows Mexican president, Enrique Peña Nieto stained in oil. The original TIME article portrayed Peña Nieto as a hero for his "revolutionary" energy reforms, that are oriented towards off shore oil exploration. The Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior is seen in the background. Greenpeace is urging the Mexican government to implement a massive uptake of renewable energy sources and to decrease dependence on oil.
