Cattle Crossing the Boro River in Botswana
Cattle, a major source of local income, crossing the Boro River. The Okavango delta, North Western Botswana, is the world's largest inland delta. The wetlands area supports a wide variety of wildlife. A government scheme to dredge stretches of the Boro River and improve water supplies to the area was suspended in 1990 because of concerns about environmental effects on the ecosystem.
