The Scorpions Humanity World Tour 2007 (Brazil: 2007)
German rock band The Scorpions call for action to stop deforestation in the Amazon and fight climate change, during their concert in Manaus, Amazon, Brazil. A banner on stage reads 'Stop Deforestation, No Amazon, No Future'
The band is supporting the Greenpeace campaign to end the continued clearing and burning of the Amazon rainforests. The concert is part of the band's 'Humanity World Tour 2007'. Over the last 40 years, the Amazon has lost some 700,000 square kilometers of forests, an area twice the size of Germany. Brazil is the world’s fourth-largest climate polluter, and most of its greenhouse gas emissions result from deforestation.
