On the eve of a meeting of EC Fisheries Ministers, Greenpeace activists unfurled a 2km long wall-of-death of driftnet in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. Although EC laws ban driftnets longer than 2.5km, the French have been enjoying a temporary derogation to the law allowing them to use nets up to 5km.
