Until the installation of a 5kW micro-hydro system in 1997, Pathanpara village was almost entirely unelectrified. The church was pivotal in mobilising the people to set up the system, around 99 per cent of the population are practicing Christians. Boy and candle, Pathanpara, Kerala.
