Research Submarine in the Gulf of Mexico
Electronic Technology Officer Neil Brewster prepares a crane hook to retrieve the Dual Deep Worker submarine after a dive in the Gulf of Mexico. Director of Coral Conservation at the Marine Conservation Biology Institute Dr. Sandra Brooke and Greenpeace Oceans Campaign Director were aboard the submersible. A team of independent scientists joined the crew of the Arctic Sunrise to conduct a series of scientific research programs that will further the understanding of the impacts of both oil and chemical dispersant on the Gulf ecosystem in the aftermath of the British Petroleum oil spill.
