Action halts Oil Drilling Ship in UK Water
Greenpeace climbers come down safely from Chevron’s giant oil drilling ship the Stena Carron. The activists occupied the ship for 100 hours in a survival pod which they attached to the anchor chain. Chevron obtained a court order, they claim they need to move the ship away from the coast in rough seas for safety reasons, yet these ships are designed to hold their position to one metre in the roughest seas while drilling in order to prevent oil spills.
