Aftermath of Red Sludge Flood in Kolontar
Six months after the tragic Red Sludge Flood at Kolontár and Devecser, the effects on the two towns and the devastation of the surrounding countryside are still clearly visible. This house in Kolontár is one of the last ones still standing, it was badly damaged by the toxic flood. Fresh grass it trying to cover the red soil. Visible in the background is the new dam that was built after the flood, to protect the rest of the town in case of another catastrophe.
