Cleared Forest In Sumatra
Forest clearance of tiger habitat at Asia Pulp and Paper (APP) related logging area. Within the concession,
13 km away, a Sumatran tiger died early in July 2011 after it became caught in an animal trap. The Sumatran tiger’s
rainforest habitat is being destroyed, forcing it into closer contact with humans and into areas where traps are laid
for wild boar. More than one million hectares of rainforests are estimated to be cleared every year.
