Documentation on Drought in the Philippines
Corn in Naguilian, La Union, 264 KM away, North of Manila, about to be harvested is destroyed by the drought that hit in the Philippines. The harvested corn is stunted and will be fed to farm animals.
The mobile Water Watch station of Greenpeace found rice fields in North & Central Luzon either totally dry because of the drought brought about by the intense El Niño, or, like this one, grow stalks that would not be able to yield grain. Greenpeace is urging presidential candidates to prioritize the protection of water resources and to carry out climate vulnerabilities & hazards mapping during the first 100 days of their administration.
