Documentation on Drought in the Philippines
Farmer Jessie Castillione, picks the dried string beans destroyed by severe drought that has hit the Philippines. La Union is known for their agricultural industry. The mobile Water Watch station of Greenpeace found rice fields in North & Central Luzon either totally dry because of the drought brought about by the intense El Nino, or, like this one, grow stalks that would not be able to yield grain. Greenpeace is urging presidential candidates to prioritize the protection of water resources and to carry out climate vulnerabilities & hazards mapping during the first 100 days of their administration.
