Greenpeace is asking the government to provide a short and long term support to farmers affected by El Niño and to provide support to farmers transitioning from conventional to ecological farming system. The government should also implement programs or long-term solutions that will respond to the effects and impacts of climate change and will address food security concerns

Aerial views of the heavily damaged coconut, banana and corn fields in Alabel, Sarangani and rice farms in New Antique, MLang North Cotabato, affected by the long dry spell brought about by El Nino. This left the farmers with no harvest and no food to eat. Greenpeace is asking the government to prioritise climate change issues, its effects and impacts on our lives. The government should implement programs and long term solutions that will address food security that is threatened by climate change.
