German Lusatia inhabitants and representatives of local civil initiatives ask the CEZ energy company to promise to not expand the lignite mines in Germany in the event that they will buy the Vattenfall coal business from the Swedish government. Acting against any expansion of coal mining, the activists demand the same promise from the other potential buyers from the Czech Republic.

Right in front of the main CEZ building, the activists set up a symbolic living room where the Lusatia citizens settle in to show that coal mining affects directly their lives and homes. They hold signs with the message “We won’t be sold!” and hand over 40 thousands postcards from German citizens addressed to CEZ executive director Daniel Beneš, asking for a coal phase out in Lusatia.
