Batang residents of the UKPWR (Ujungnegoro, Karanggeneng, Ponowareng, Wonokerso, and Roban) community display signs reading in Indonesian "Pltu merampas tanan dan kehidupanku" (The power plant will seize land and life”), as they hold a protest in their rice farm which will be used for the Batang coal-fired power plant project, Central Java.

The construction of the mega-plant has been delayed for almost four years due to persistent and strong opposition from villagers living near the site.
