On May 24, 2011, activists occupied the Fisk coal fired power plant in Chicago. The activists stayed on the smoke stack for over 2 days to paint "Quit Coal" in protest.
After years of campaigning and community organizing the Fisk Coal Fired Power Plant was shut down in 2012. Fisk and Crawford power plants had the highest density of people surrounding them in the United States.
