BP Oil Rig Protest in the North Sea - Day 2 evening - New Activists Board the Rig - News Access
Two new Greenpeace activists board the BP oil rig in Cromarty Firth, Scotland on the evening of 2nd day that the rig has been halted from leaving.
The rig is the 'Paul B Loyd Jr', owned by Transocean, and on its way to the Vorlich field where it was to be drilling new oil wells, operated by BP, paying £140,000 a day for its use. BP is the operator, Transocean the owner, the same as the Deepwater Horizon.
Greenpeace is calling on BP to halt looking for new oil and invest in renewable power instead because of the climate emergency.
