Greenpeace Youth Group Climate Action at Zugspitze Mountain in Germany
Greenpeace youth call on Markus Söder at the Zugspitze for effective climate protection measures. With five urns containing glacial meltwater, they demand effective measures from Söder against climate heating.
There are a total of five glaciers in the German Alps. However, the northern and southern snowfields, the blue ice and the Watzmann glacier have already melted away so much due to the climate heating that only small ice fields of a few hectares are left.
The young environmentalists from Greenpeace erect a wooden cross on the Zugspitze to symbolically carry the German glaciers to their graves.
