Lang Suan Hospital is a 120-bed community healthcare and medical facility. Services are provided to 150,000 people in its own district and nearby districts in the province. With limited fiscal budget and alarming operational costs, the hospital is always finding ways to save on costs, particularly on electricity bills. Currently, the hospital pays 500,000 THB a month for electricity.
Lang Suan Hospital is now the second recipient of a solar PV rooftop installation by Thailand Solar Fund through crowdfunding. The Thailand Solar Fund’s program aims to raise seven million THB for solar rooftop systems to be put up in seven public hospitals across Thailand.
