The climate activists scaled the 96-metre high digger and rigged a 60 square-metre banner which reads "Climate Crisis: Shut Down Coal". In front of the digger the activists unfurled a ground banner which reads "Coal needs to stay in the ground".

60 Aktivistinnen und Aktivisten von Greenpeace protestieren im RWE-Braunkohletagebau Garzweiler gegen weitere Verzögerungen beim Abschalten klimaschädlicher Kohlekraftwerke. Die Klimaschützer kletterten auf einem 96 Meter hohen Schaufelradbagger mit einem 60 Quadratmeter großen Banner: „Klimakrise: Kohle abschalten!“ Vor dem Bagger entrollen weitere Aktivistinnen und Aktivisten ein Banner mit dem Spruch „Kohle muss im Boden bleiben!“.
