Climate Plaintiffs in Brandenburg in Germany
Climate plaintiff Heiner Lütke Schwienhorst on the organic farm of the family in Brandenburg. Together with two other families impacted by the global warming and with Greenpeace e.V., he and his family are taking legal steps for effective climate protection and file a complaint against the German government with the Berlin Administrative Court. The estate of the Schwienhorst family exists since the 18th century. Around 120 dairy cows of the endangered domestic animal breed "Deutsches Schwarzbuntes Niederungsrind" (German Black Pied cattle) are milking here. Extreme weather events such as heatwaves hit the farm hard.
