Displaced People after Floods in the Central African Republic
"The water that came without notice, seeing that coming, as a man you are scared. That water coming, when will it stop? As a man, I'm worried, I host people at my house. I hope their difficulties stop," says Désiré Ndoumba, a 50 year-old father of 8, hosted around 50 of his neighbours when the floods invaded their homes. At first they sleep in the back of his house, on a small portion of land spared by the waters. When it rained, all 50 people would fit in his house. Now only 30 people remain, and as the water level dropped, they have a bit more space to sleep. He lives in Cité Kolongo, part of Petevu, Bangui.
