Swordfish Eye - Mediterranean 2006
The glazed eye of a dead swordfish peers from the entangling mesh of an illegal driftnet confiscated off southern Italy by the Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior. Despite being illegal, driftnetting continues and threatens the future of the Mediterranean Sea.
The Rainbow Warrior is in the Mediterranean for a three-month ship tour taking action on the threats to the sea and calling for a network of large-scale marine reserves to protect the health and productivity of the Mediterranean Sea.
