Break Free Action in Dangjin - Web Video (Clean Version)
Dangjin citizens united against fossil fuel, participate in the global “Break Free” movement.
Dangjin city already has the world's largest operating coal plants now (10 units 6,040mw). Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) and SK Gas plan to build the 1,160mw of new additional coal plants. Over 40% of Dangjin citizens oppose new coal plants according to the survey Greenpeace East Asia Seoul recently conducted. Dangjin local groups are preparing a people’s referendum to stop this. Dangjin citizens join the “Break Free” movement to stop climate change.
The Break Free march is co-organized by Dangjin Citizens’ Commission Against Power Cable & Coal-Fired Power Plant, Korean Federation for Environmental Movement, Greenpeace, GEYK, and 350.org.
