Stop Logging in Bialowieza Forest Action in Poland (2nd Action)
Greenpeace and Wild Poland Foundation activists block the logging operations in the Białowieża Forest, one of Europe’s last lowland natural forest, for the second time in a week. A dozen of activists occupy the forestry heavy machinery and display banners with slogans calling for the halt of the logging operations. This second protest is to highlight that logging, being conducted during the bird breeding season, is allowed by a barbarian law introduced last January by Polish minister of environment, Jan Szyszko. Banners read “Don’t cut trees during the breeding season!” and "Save the Białowieża Forest".
