Demarcation signs reading: 'Reindeer Forest ­ No logging. Reindeer Herding Act’, have been placed on boundaries of reindeer forests at Paadarskaidiin, in the Inari municipality in northern Lapland.
Greenpeace established a Forest Rescue Station in the Sami reindeer forest area on the 1st March 2005 in one of the threatened reindeer forest areas to protest the ongoing destruction by Metsähallitus, the Finnish government's logging company and other paper companies.
