At midday Shandong Province native, Liu Zhaoquan, takes a break at Lem Seafood, a Chinese owned fish-meal factory in Nouadhibou. Liu Zhaoquan is responsible for overseeing the shipment of fish to the factory. Fish-meal is animal feed made from fish and fed to pigs, cattle and farmed fish.

A new type of Chinese overseas investment, fishmeal factory, is explored as it can be considered as a small Chinese overseas investment that may have implications for Chinese investors in Africa and Africa’s own natural resources. 

2016年6月29日中午，努瓦迪布市一家名为Lem Seafood的中国鱼粉厂内，现年60岁、来自山东威海的刘昭全在他的房间里午休。刘昭全是这里的监工，负责监督工人把鱼运送到鱼粉厂。他每天早上六点起床开始工作，午饭后如果还没做完当天的工作就继续监工，然后晚饭、休息，每天如此。
