Haze from Siberian Fires Reaches Krasnoyarsk
Haze from forest fires covers one of the largest cities in Siberia - Krasnoyarsk. Smoke came from fires near the city, that local authorities haven't been able to put out for more than a month, but also from fires in Yakutia - thousands of kilometers away.
On August 12th, Krasnoyarsk was second in the world’s cities ranking with the dirtiest air according to IQAir. And according to the regional supervisory authorities, the concentration of fine particles in the air over Krasnoyarsk exceeded the permissible levels by two or three times.
