Seabed in the Baltic Sea
Kaegnes in the Flensburger Fjord.
Greenpeace divers document the seabed and take water samples to gather data for their research on water pollution and dead zones caused by eutrophication in specific areas of the Baltic Sea. Aquatic eutrophication is often caused by high nutrient levels in the water which lead to oxygen depletion.
Condition: High potential for negative change in condition due to decomposition of organic material, local oxygen deficiency and blackening by iron monosulfides.
