Plastic Pollution & Brand Audit Event in Greece - Web Video (Clean)
Greenpeace Greece held an open event in Syntagma square, the most central square of Athens, to announce the results of the plastics brand audit they conducted. Activists and volunteers created a “sea of plastic” in order to show that plastic pollution has an identity. Brands were being named in public, raising questions from bystanders on the very plastic packaging they were holding at the moment. All the plastic was collected for the purposes of brand auditing from a secluded beach in Evoia, Greece and a big percentage of the single-use plastic found there belongs to eight big companies. Without the meaningful contribution of these companies or others like them, whose products are flooding the market and the natural environment, plastic pollution cannot be handled. We need them to drastically reduce the amount of plastic they use and spread the message that another way of consuming is possible.
