Urban Consumer Mall Sensitization in Nairobi
Members of Elani band entertaining shoppers during a consumer sensitization exercise on ecological farming at Village Market in Nairobi.
Kenya’s right to food has observed numerous violations of citizens food sovereignty. From mercury laced sugar, expired rice, sub-standard cooking oil to aflatoxin infected maize and calcium carbide ripen fruits.
To add our voice to the issue, Greenpeace Africa in collaboration with micro-influencers Boniface Mwangi and Elani band, conducted a consumer mall sensitization activity at the village market in Nairobi to raise awareness on food sovereignty, the importance of urban consumers being mindful of product purchasing choices, and the need for consumers to support local farmers, who practice ecological farming.
