Woman’s Eyes Possibly Affected by Factory Farm in Lescout, France
Near the village of Lescout there is a big hen factory farm, currently farming 185,000 hens. At the time of a visit by Greenpeace France, locals like municipal councillor Thomas Drieux expressed their concerns on what according to their calculations is an extraordinary high rate of cancer in the area.
In this picture, N. shows an angiogram of the tumour in her eye, seen as a black spot. Eye tumours are an extremely rare form of malignant cancer and N., who prefer to keep her name anonymous), is 62 years old and has lived in Lescout for almost thirty years, is the only survivor of two cases of eye cancer recorded in the village. N. was lucky that the tumour did not affect her brain. Even though the malignant disease is healed, N.’s vision remains affected.
