Forest Fire Prevention Team Deployment at PT SUM Concession – Web Video using new and archive footage.
Members of the Greenpeace Forest Fire Prevention Team are deployed to suppress fires which have broken out at the PT SUM concession area in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, belonging to suppliers to some of the biggest household brands in the world.
Greenpeace Fire Prevention team footage was taken in August 2018 at PT Sumatera Unggul Makmur (PT SUM), which has burned every year since 2013. The concession belongs to Gama, a palm oil company closely connected to Wilmar. Wilmar, the largest trader in the world, supplied Gama’s palm oil to: Colgate-Palmolive, General Mills, Hershey, Johnson & Johnson, L'Oreal, Kelloggs, Kraft Heinz, Mars, Mondelez, Nestle, PepsiCo, Procter & Gamble, Reckitt Benkiser and Unilever.
