Direct Action at Wilmar Refinery in North Sulawesi
Greenpeace activists land by inflatable boats at Wilmar International refinery in Bitung, North Sulawesi.
Thirty Greenpeace activists from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, UK, France and Australia occupy a palm oil refinery belonging to Wilmar International, the world’s largest palm oil trader and supplier of major brands including Colgate, Mondelez, Nestlé and Unilever.
The refinery processes palm oil from major producers that are destroying rainforests in Kalimantan and Papua, Indonesia.
