“Minister of Coal and Smog” Projection in Poland
Greenpeace activists display a projection on the building of the Ministry of Energy in Warsaw with the text reading "Minister węgla i smogu" (Minister of Coal and Smog), to highlight the failed promises made by the minister of energy Krzysztof Tchórzewski.
In January 2017 the Polish government announced a plan aiming at air pollution reduction. Politicians finally recognized a serious problem all over the country - according to the World Health Organisation 33 out of 50 most polluted EU cities are in Poland. Unfortunately after one year most of the government's promises remain unfulfilled - including such fundamental issues as introducing coal quality standards.
