Greenpeace Switzerland called on supporters to sew and donate creative fabric handkerchiefs, as an alternative to tissues made from centuries-old forests. Supporters sent around 800 handmade handkerchiefs as a symbol of their support to save the northern forests. Greenpeace activists have used the handkerchiefs to decorate trees and create a beautiful light installation reading “Save the Forest”. With this activity Greenpeace wants to highlight unsustainable logging practices carried out by the paper industry to manufacture paper tissue products.
