Greenpeace launches NIKS (nothing) in Amsterdam. Nothing is really nothing special. The best things in life cost nothing. Without us doing anything the trees grow, the rivers flow and the fish swim. If we want to keep it that way, something has to happen. That’s why you can give the gift of NIKS to someone who already has everything they need and would like “nothing” for their birthday. With this symbolic gift Greenpeace is supported with ensuring that nothing will be drilled from the Arctic, nothing will be clearcut in the Amazon, and nothing will be dumped in the ocean.
