Rainbow Warrior in Tacloban
The Rainbow Warrior, Greenpeace’s most iconic ship, concludes its “Balangaw: The Climate Justice Ship Tour” of the Philippines as it sails from Tacloban City in Eastern Visayas, the region hit hardest by supertyphoon Yolanda in 2013. The ship was in the Philippines from 14 February to highlight the role of communities in pressuring governments and corporations to take immediate action on climate change and to protect the human rights that continue to be threatened by its impacts. From Tacloban, the Rainbow Warrior is sailing on to Indonesia, the second country in its 5-month “Climate Change & People Power” tour of Southeast Asia.
