Teacher Training on Agroecology in Northeast Thailand - Clipreel
Greenpeace Southeast Asia, the Thai Education Foundation (TEF) and the Thai Health Promotion Foundation organized a sustainable school lunch teacher training program in Sakon Nakorn province. The project focuses on providing training and development for teachers and school staff on food safety, agroecology and nutrition in 4 areas across Thailand namely Chiang Mai, Sakon Nakhon, Phang Nga, and Pathum Thani.
The food safety training includes farms visit and hands-on training for participants. Teachers also learn how to grow food in an ecological way instead of harming the environment. The training aims to provide teachers and school staff with knowledge on safe food, and the impact of chemical substances on health. After the training, participants from each school will pass on the knowledge to their own students and then improve their own school lunch meals to be healthier and safe.
