Skipjack Tuna in East Pacific Ocean
The crew of the Ecuadorean purse seiner 'Monteneme' haul in a net full of skipjack tuna, with visible bycatch of mahi mahi, or dorado. The vessel was spotted by Greenpeace near the 'Paramount Seamount', in the vicinity the northern Galapagos Islands at LAT 03:35.7 NORTH / LONG 092:07.7 WEST. Greenpeace is calling for a total ban on fish aggregation devices, or FADs, and the setting up of a global network of marine reserves.
